On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 11:00 am, the Foundation for the Support and Development of Jewish Culture, Traditions, Education and Science is holding an international online conference «Restitution of Jewish Property in South-Eastern Europe: Implementation of the Terezin Declaration”. Signed by 47 states The Terezin Declaration along with additional documents (2010 Guidelines and Good Practice on Real Estate Restitution and Compensation) and US national law (Justice for Non-Compensated and Survivors Act, JUST (entered into force 2018)) contributes to the restoration of justice for the victims of the Holocaust, their descendants and also memorialization of victims of the genocide perpetrated by the Nazis and their allies.
The Conference on the Implementation of the Declaration in the States of South-East Europe is called upon to promote the restoration of justice for the victims of the Holocaust and the preservation of their memory, international cooperation between state authorities and non-governmental organizations.
The main topics of the conference:
— The Holocaust on the territory of the states of South-East Europe
— the destroyed, requisitioned and appropriated property of the victims of the Holocaust — the scale of the problem, the current state and prospects of return
— problems of restitution / implementation of the Terezin Declaration in the countries of South-East Europe.
